Wine + January 17th and 18th at Olympia:

As well as the Main Divide launch we also have some interesting news from around the globe, with all wines being available to taste at the show:

Domaine Gayda, the Languedoc producers based in Brugairolles with prime ‘La Liviniere’ vineyards has released the much awaited 2004 Chemin de Moscou, a blend of Grenache and Syrah from old vine plots at the top of the cru. The wine has been aged in new oak for 12 months and shows incredible depth and concentration, but also purity of fruit and balance. The wine is joined by the Cuvee L’Occitane red and white; blends of indigenous varieties from the Languedoc which have been hand made to reflect both the terroir of the area and the potential it has for producing world beating wines.

Il Blu, Brancaia’s super Tuscan that has become one of the great wines from the genre has been awarded the 9th best wine in the world from the Wine Spectator. Although this is a serious recognition of the work being done at the estate, we should also point out that both Il Blu and Ilatraia have been awarded 5 Grappoli (awarded by the sommeliers of Italy) and Tre Bicchieri for Il Blu. Tre and Chianti Classico have also performed well, but the true test is in the taste, so they will be available at the show

Other news:

Toro producer Dominio del Bendito has now released the much awaited 2005 ‘Silver’.
• 2005 Vilot from Ca’Viola, a wine made by a master in an amazing vintage for Piedmont and the 2005 Barturot which has been awarded Tre Bicchieri.
• 2005 Chablis from Domaine de la Boisseneusse, now bottled under stelvin and tasting as delicious and vibrant as ever!

West Cape Howe will be joining us at the end of January. The Western Australian producer, who Gavin Berry joined in 2005 (ex MD of Plantagenet) has become one of the icons of the region, especially after being awarded 5 stars by James Halliday. The wines represent exceptional value for money and a full range will be available to taste at Wine +.
