Dominio del Bendito, Toro

Antony Terryn is one of those winemakers whose unbridled passion for his soil, vines and winemaking allows him to transcend those around him.  Having made wine in  some of the world’s most prestigious arenas, including his native France, Antony settled on a patch of ‘old vine’ Tinto de Toro (Tempranillo) near the town of Toro in North-West Spain.  An area normally associated with low-cost bulk wine, Antony has made those obsessed with producing fine wine reassess this terroir.

It is from this previously undervalued area that Antony procured 8 hectares and now produces a small quantity of each of his wines with the loving care and attention to detail that is so apparent once the wines are tasted. The low yields, hand-harvesting and organic and biodynamic viticulture combined with exacting fruit selection and meticulous winemaking that all come together to produce simply stunning wines.
