Through progressive winemaking practices, Marc Kent has had a stellar career and has built up an international reputation as one of South Africa’s greatest winemakers.  His small batch production ideology and passionate winemaking have created a demand for his wine that is the envy of his contemporaries.  According to The Wine Advocate Boekenhoutskloof is the only ‘outstanding’ South African wine estate. 

Based in Franschhoek, the estate has gained cult status because of the exquisitely balanced wines that reflect the varieties used as much as the soil they come from.  The reputation of the winery is built as much on the outstanding value of the everyday wines as it is on the quality of the flagship bottles.  The top wines from Boekenhoutskloof are made in tiny quantities and have a fanatical following with canny customers buying early to avoid disappointment.  The Porcupine Ridge wines are pure expressions of their varietals and the Wolftrap range reflects Marc’s fascination with the Rhône.  Chocolate Block has carved out an impressive niche for itself with its deep, complex character.
