As a result of his unremitting passion and enthusiasm for the wines of Burgundy, Alex Gambal has built up one of the finest 'micro-negociants' in the region, producing some 50,000 bottles per annum. Alex caught the wine bug in 1993, when he moved to France from the USA. He attended the Ecole Vinicole de Beaune in 1996 and established Maison Alex Gambal in 1997. Together with head winemaker Fabrice Laronze, in 2005 Alex vinified 95% of all wines that will be bottled.
The respect that the vignerons of Burgundy show Alex is probably the best gauge of the quality of his wines and his regard for the traditions of this amazing place.
Village wine delimited making a rich, complex zesty wine that punches well above its weight
One of the very few Cote de Nuit whites. The position of Fixin means the wines develop minerality and racy acidity, coupled to hints of herb and fresh picked apples.
Harvested from a vineyard tended by two Grandfathers! Scented spice and cherry abound and the palate is understated, yet develops with every minute in the glass.
